The production of naturally fermented calcium propionate can be carried out in a variety of ways. A common method is to react propionic acid with calcium hydroxide, maintain the reaction temperature at 70-100°C, react for 2-3 hours, and control the pH value at the end of the reaction to be around 7-8. The finished product can be obtained by decolorization, pressure concentration, filtration, washing, and drying. Eggshells can also be used instead of industrial calcium hydroxide to prepare calcium propionate. The process includes eggshell calcination, lime milk preparation, propionic acid reaction, drying and dehydration, etc.
